Sergey Krikalev is the first Soviet cosmonaut to fly on an American Space Shuttle. Sergey Krikalev was the first Russian cosmonaut to make six space flights. During the last flight (August 16, 2005) Sergey Krikalev surpassed the record of the total duration space flights of Sergey Avdeyev, which was 747 d 14 h 15 m 1 s. After landing On October 11, 2005 Krikalev's record was 803 d 10 h 8 m 11 s (14985 h 14 m 48 s). This record lasted until June 28, 2015, when he was surpassed by Gennady Padalka.
